It can become very overwhelming to hear of all of the different things out there that contain toxins and carcinogens we MUST avoid in order to reduce our chances of developing cancer down the line. However, even if we follow all of the advice out there, majority of the time, cancer diagnoses are just darn rotten luck. Of course there are obvious things we can do to avoid increasing our chances of developing cancer, like wearing sunscreen and not smoking. However, even if you eat all the kale in the world, you could still end up with cancer one day.

So, instead of worrying away, let’s just be grateful for each and every day and do our best to keep our health in check when we can!

Lots of love, and wish you the happiest start to your spring!!! We are so ready for warmer weather.

Mary Ella and Ladies

We’re going to let you in on a little secret. Combating wrinkles and other signs of aging may not be as hard or as pricey as we all think.

According to recent scientific research, sometimes it may just take a little love and kindness and going the extra mile for someone to boost our entire immune system. Seriously! And boosting our immune system leads to all sorts of benefits for our bodies, inside and out.

I know this all might sound cheesy, but being kind to others while in turn being kind to our health, well, that’s something all of us here at Dr. Carter’s office can get on board with.

Love always,

Dr. Carter and staff

We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Dr. Scott Spear, one of Sibley’s finest surgeons. I had a tremendous amount of respect for him as he was a phenomenal surgeon. It was truly an honor to know him. He touched and impacted many lives.

We send our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. May they find peace in the great legacy he leaves behind.

Show me someone who claims to not absolutely adore Ellen DeGeneres and I’ll show you a liar.

Just last week she surprised each member of a high school graduating class with a scholarship to a four year university or college!! The gift of an education is truly priceless, and we extend our greatest thank you to Ellen for committing her life to making the lives of others better.

You’re our hero, Ellen. And a big shout out to Walmart as well for helping to make it all happen for these lovely students. We wish them all the greatest luck in this next chapter of their lives!

We hear from our doctors constantly about the importance of exercise, exercise, exercise. Sometimes working out can be such a drag…we totally get that! But along with many of its other benefits, a recent study has found one more to add to the long, long list that may motivate you even more.

A group of researchers found that exercise, almost as much as any other habit, worked to reduce the risk of recurrent cancer in breast cancer survivors. So, before you put off that pilates work out class for next month, get out there and get your body moving!
