Zoom Into Fall
We understand that as the era of Zoom meetings continues, people are spending more time than usual looking at their face on a screen. We also understand that Zoom might be picking up some of your less flattering angles! Check out this great article from the Washingtonian, linked below, to learn more about how virtual life may be motivating more people to consider plastic surgery. Dr. Carter is thankful to be featured in the article as on of Washington’s Top Plastic Surgeons. As always, Dr. Carter is here to help you look and feel your best.

Happy Back to School!
As summer vacation draws to a close, we’d like to wish everyone a happy and healthy school year. At the office, we’re looking forward to cooler weather and the upcoming holiday weekend. This summer certainly seemed to fly by! Best of luck to our family and friends as they learn and grow this fall, and an extra congratulations to our former staff members who are beginning professional school. Stay safe, and we hope everyone has a lovely Fall!
COVID-19: August Edition
As we continue to adapt to our new normal, we remain committed to fighting the virus and supporting our community. Our practice has been a bit different these past few months, but we are grateful that we are able to continue to see patients. It brings us great joy to see everyone’s faces, even if they are behind masks.
As we enter the end of summer, we look forward to the change the fall will bring. Hopefully, that change will include safely seeing more patients. Until then, we leave you with this hilarious cartoon!
Honoring Diversity in Our Practice and Beyond
One of the many beauties of plastic and reconstructive surgery is how each procedure is tailored to the uniqueness of the individual. Without the originality that each of our patients brings to the practice, our craft would not be nearly as challenging and extraordinary as it is today. With that said, we stand in solidarity with all of the movements advocating for equality and sustainable change. We are and will remain committed to reflecting on how our experiences shape the way we treat patients and each other. It is of utmost importance to Dr. Carter and our staff to continue to strive to be our very best in our commitment to diversity.
COVID-19: April Edition
Normally during this time of year, we celebrate new beginnings: flowers sprouting from the ground, trees in bloom, and families gathering for Easter, Passover, and Ramadan. However, as we progress further into the weeks of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are staying indoors to practice social distancing and quarantine.
Yet all the while, our practice is committed to help battle the virus and do everything we can to support our community. Currently, we have limited our practice significantly, only seeing emergency cases like wounds, falls, or emergencies. Our goal is to practice social distancing while also helping out patients avoid a trip to the Emergency Department. We are fighting every day to protect our patients and those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Even during these tough times, positives are revealed. Our community is rallying together to show love and support even from afar. The healthcare workers of Sibley are tirelessly working on the frontlines as well as our staff who have answered the call of caring for patients in need. Our community is showing strength now and we will inevitably show resilience when we return back to normal.
In the meantime, take a look at Laura and Taj who have been helping Dr. Carter with patients! They continue to dedicate themselves to caring for patients and we can’t thank them enough.
Stay strong and be safe!
