It finally has started to feel like fall, with each week getting colder and the days getting shorter. It is hard to believe November is around the corner! The leaves on the trees are finally changing color into beautiful red, orange and yellow fall hues. The colder weather brings hot apple cider, bonfires, turtleneck sweaters and pumpkin carving. Our office is fully decked out with pumpkins, gourds and even a witches hat. We also are anxiously anticipating the Halloween festivities. What are you dressing up as for Halloween? We wish you and your family a healthy and warm fall! Don’t forget to get your flu shot!

As the days are getting shorter and the sounds of the beach are fading away into the distance, we welcome in the crisp breeze, changing leaves, scarves, and sweaters. Here at our office, we are preparing for the season ahead and all the wonderful opportunities that come with it. We have already started to decorate the office for Halloween, soon to be followed with equally festive Thanksgiving decorations. We have so much to be thankful for and look forward to this coming Fall. We also honor all the Americans that dedicated their services to September 11th and all our Veterans that protect us. We look forward to seeing our patients back in the office and wish all our patients great things this coming season!

It’s National Dog Day!

Here in the office, we all hold a special place in our hearts for dogs. They’re here for us through thick and thin, from sunny days in the dog park to comforting snuggles during a rainy day. Enjoy the coming fall weather and take a furry best friend out for an adventure today!

Congrats to our wonderful medical assistant, Helen, on her recent publication in BMC Medical Genetics. We are all so incredibly proud of you! It is the culmination of research done during her four undergraduate years at the University of Maryland while studying Neurobiology and Physiology.

On July 24, 2019, Allergan  announced a voluntary worldwide recall of BIOCELL^® textured breast implants and tissue expanders. Allergan is taking this action as a precaution following notification of recently updated global safety information concerning the uncommon incidence of breast implant-associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma (BIA-ALCL) provided by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

BIOCELL^® saline-filled and silicone-filled textured breast implants and tissue expanders will no longer be distributed or sold in any market where they are currently available. Effective immediately, healthcare providers should no longer implant new BIOCELL^® textured breast implants and tissue expanders and unused products should be returned to Allergan. Allergan will provide additional information to customers about how to return unused products.

Patient safety is a priority for Allergan. Patients are advised to speak with their plastic surgeon about the risks and benefits of their implant type should they have any concerns.

Importantly, the FDA and other health authorities have not recommended removal or replacement of textured breast implants or tissue expanders in asymptomatic patients. 

This global recall does not affect Allergan’s NATRELLE^® smooth or MICROCELL^® breast implants and tissue expanders.
