Dr. Carter, in addition to three of her assistants- Sarah Denehan, Bailee Lambert, and Felicia Tan- had the incredible opportunity to travel to Moshi Rural District in Tanzania at the end of January 2024 to perform reconstructive surgery on patients at Kilema Hospital. While serving at Kilema Hospital, Dr. Carter conducted surgeries on individuals afflicted with congenital deformities, burn injuries, and wound abnormalities.  These procedures will allow for these patients to regain mobility to their hands and extremities which otherwise would have been lost.  Dr. Carter looks forward to the opportunity to foster this relationship with Kilema Hospital and return within the year.
